Authorization String Error on the Web Portal

When navigating to the Web Portal, some users get the following error message: Authorization string is incorrect. Please log in, use correct auth string, or select public workgroup. This issue can be resolved by resetting the URL through the Web Portal settings.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Following the instructions below will correct the error and restore access to the Perspective Portal; however, the URL used to connect to the portal will change and all bookmarked URLs will need to be updated.

  1. Navigate to the Web Portal, then log on as an administrator.

  2. Click the gear icon.

  3. Select the Workgroup you want to reset from the Manage drop-down menu.

  4. Single-click the last character entered in the Workgroup Key.

  5. Press the space bar on your keyboard once.

  6. Press Backspace on your keyboard to delete the space you just entered.

  7. Click Validate Key.

  8. Click the  Submit icon at the bottom of the page.

  9. Highlight the Primary URL text.

  10. Right-click the URL.

  11. Click Copy to copy the URL to your clipboard.

  12. Open a new tab or window in your browser.

  13. Right-click the address bar and click Paste.

  14. Click Enter on your keyboard to load the URL pasted in the address bar.

The Web Portal homepage for the workgroup should now display without any errors.
