Below are some common questions and answers about Dispatch, which was released with version 5.0. For more information about switching from DispatchLog to Dispatch, see Planning Your Upgrade from DispatchLog to Dispatch.
Q: Are there keyboard shortcuts for certain commands?
A: Although keyboard shortcuts (hot keys) are not currently supported, Dispatch 5.1 and later has the new Command Line feature, which allows you to perform basic Dispatch functions using only your keyboard.
Q: Are CAD or DWG files supported for location image uploads?
A: No. We currently don’t support vector based files for location image uploads, but we do support most common image file types.
Q: Can you link the calendar in Dispatch with an Outlook calendar?
A: No. We currently don’t support calendar export or Outlook syncing.
Q: Are you able to print off tasks to give to the officers in the field?
A: No. Tasks currently don’t have print functionality.
Q: Can you use both DispatchLog and Dispatch at the same time?
A: Yes. Both DispatchLog and Dispatch will push their activity data into Perspective. If you’re looking to make the switch to Dispatch, but have multiple dispatch centers, you have the option of moving one center at a time.
Q: How many users can be logged in at one time?
A: Based on our testing, hundreds of users can be logged into Dispatch at one time without any issues.
Q: Is there a way to export private messages from Dispatch?
A: There is currently no way to export private messages from Dispatch, however, these messages are stored in the system and can be extracted by Resolver if needed. Dispatch-related conversations are stored in the Activity Notes once the dispatch is moved to Perspective as an activity in the Data Forms.
Q: I have an idea about a feature that could enhance Dispatch. How do I share that idea with Resolver?
