Change the File Storage Location of the Backed up Files

Applies to RiskVision Versions: 6.5, 7.0, 7.5

From RiskVision version 6.5 SP1 and above, you can map a universal naming convention path of an external drive to a folder present in the %AGILIANCE_HOME%\data. That is, you can configure the Agiliance RiskVision Server to save folders: attachments, dashboards, and reports directly in a separate system when evidence is added or when chart or dashboard is archived. For example, you can configure the dashboards folder to an external drive, such as \\RiskVision_server\\Data of another system to save all the archived dashboards. This enables you to facilitate the storage administrator with the ability to store the AgilianceRiskVision data along with the critical data of other software that are available in your organization in an encrypted directory. Prerequisite for Configuring the Data Folder: Obtain the name of the computer and the folder path(s) to which you want to map the dashboards, reports and attachments folders. Make sure that the Agiliance RiskVision Server host has sufficient privileges to move the data folder contents to the external drive and to read the folder contents during the backup. Steps to configure the new data folder location:

  1. Go to the %AGILIANCE_HOME%\config directory, open the agiliance.properties file by using a text editor, add the following properties, and then set each property to a new location other than the %AGILIANCE_HOME%\backup directory. save.folder.reports= </\\StorageServer\RiskVision_server\Data> save.folder.dashboards=</\\StorageServer\RiskVision_server\Data> save.folder.attachments=</\\StorageServer\RiskVision_server\Data> Where, the \\StorageServer is the computer name and the RiskVision_server\Data is the name of share to which reports, dashboards, and attachments folders are saved. Note that you can map each folder to a different external drive.
  2. Restart the Tomcat Application Server to apply the latest changes. The contents in reports, dashboards, and attachments folders will remain in the %AGILIANCE_HOME%\data directory, but those folders that are mapped to an external drive will start storing the data the moment you configure it. Once the Daily Server and Database Hot Backup job is run, the contents in the external mapped drive in the %AGILIANCE_HOME%\ directory are backed up.
