Perspective Hosted: Removal of Support for TLS 1 and 1.1

Resolver will be discontinuing support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 for Perspective Hosted customers in January 2019. The following will explain why we are making this change and how to prepare.

What is TLS?

TLS, or Transport Layer Security, is used to secure communication between servers and web browsers. You might recognize it by the name Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL. Any HTTPS traffic to your Perspective Hosted site relies on TLS, including API calls.

Why are we discontinuing support for TLS 1 and 1.1?

It's recommended to move to version TLS version 1.2 to ensure the greatest possible security for your data.

What will happen if I don’t upgrade?

If you don't upgrade to TLS 1.2, you won't be able to log into your Perspective Hosted site.

When will this happen?

We will be stopping support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in January 2019.

How do I prepare?

Ask your IT department to ensure you are using TLS 1.2. We have provided a hosted test site to give you time to test your system before we implement this change.

We also recommend consulting the whitepaper Solving the TLS 1.0 problem from Microsoft for more information.
